Meeting near Centre Vale Park today’s walk started by driving up to Eastwood Road to park and set off for Dukes Cut on a breezy and misty morning. Changing direction at Four Gates end we followed paths down Moorcock road to Harleywood gate then down a rough overgrown track to a small recently renovated stone footbridge over Daisy Bank Clough, then round to Eastwood road back to the start point.
The route took us over footpaths, fields and Bridleways on a circular route, covering a distance of 7.5 km over a 2.20 hr walk involving 2.3km uphill, 115m ascent and 2.8km downhill, descending 132m at an average speed of 3.2km/h.
