Today's 6km walk started at Ewood lane car park and consisted of a total ascent of 254m in 2 hours over 2.5 km to the highest point at 394 m.

Crossing the A646 we travelled North along Stony Royd lane turning East and upwards to Cross Lee and skirting Dungeon Wood to Whirlaw and Stony Lane joining the Calderdale way. At Higher Hartley we turn South towards Orchan Rocks eventually reaching a metalled road and under the Kitson Wood tunnel, back onto Stoney Royd lane and a return to the car park.
