St Andrews Church, Arm Road Littleborough
This year we will again be holding our annual Christmas meeting in St. Andrew's Church in Dearnley on Monday December 14th 2pm to 4pm. We realise that the parking at the church is limited and this prevented some of you from attending last year. We have a plan to help:
We have booked a 16 seater minibus with driver who will ferry people from the centre of Littleborough to St. Andrew's Church between 1.15pm and 2pm and back to Littleborough at the end of the event i.e. at 4pm. The u3a will pay for this - no charge to members but we do need you to sign up and book onto the minibus so that we can plan the timings and number of trips needed. Please tell us if you have mobility issues so that we can give you priority. However, there will also be space for those of you who just find it difficult to walk up from the bus stop.
To Book your Place on the minibus: There will be a sign-up sheet at the monthly meeting on November 9th at the Coach House OR you can click here Vice Chair - Jo. Once we can see the level of demand we can arrange the number of trips needed and let you have the details.
Last year there was no real issue on the day with parking at the church and please remember that there are a few places at the rear of the church, in the church grounds, for disabled parking. Please share transport wherever possible. Remaining parking is in the streets around - these are generally quiet during the day.
The bus stop is New Road and the bus stops at the bottom of Arm Road for the walk up to the church. All the buses along Halifax Road between Rochdale and Littleborough stop here.
We really hope this helps and makes it possible for some people to come along to this annual celebration of Christmas. This year the pantomime will be in full flow and the choir are rehearsing hard already...
I look forward to hearing from you.
