Our next u3a IT Clinic will be held at HHH on Monday 3rd August 2026.
Members of Littleborough u3a have access to a panel of Tech Buddies - members with IT knowledge who will help with any aspect of technology that our members may struggle with.
On the afternoon of the first Monday of every month (unless that Monday is a bank holiday), a number of Tech Buddies will be available at Hare Hill House (in Hare Hill Park) to answer any questions relating to IT. Members can bring along their laptops, tablets and smartphones. These sessions are funded by a small contribution each month, to cover the cost of room hire and refreshments.
At the sessions, the Tech Buddies will also cover topics requested by members, such as managing storage and backups, using emails and dealing with attachments, basic photo editing, internet services, and so forth.
Our Tech Buddies have experience of Windows, MacOS & Linux, along with Android & Apple iOS systems.
For more detailed work, our Tech Buddies are happy to work on a one to one basis with individual members to solve their IT problems.
If you’d like to be added to the circulation list for these sessions, contact Mark via the groups page.. There is a nominal £2 per meeting fee to cover room hire cost and provision of a brew and biscuits. All members are welcome to drop in … but please warn Mark in advance so he can manage numbers.

Please remember the following Top tips to protect yourself and others:
•Be extra careful if you receive any phone calls, texts or emails from anyone claiming to be a bank or other trusted organisation. A genuine bank or organisation will never contact you out of the blue to ask for your PIN, full password, card reader codes, passcodes, or to move money to another account. Personal information is yours. Don’t give it away.
•Never click on a link received in an email or text that then takes you to a website requesting personal information or login details. Always go via a search engine or direct to the company website.
•Never allow remote access to your computer by any third party. Scammers will often ask you to download an app or will send you an email with a link such as Team Viewer.
•Watch out for poor grammar or spelling on emails/printed material/letters.
•Take 5. Stop and think about what you are being asked to do. If concerned, stop and talk to your family or a friend.
