From our start point in Portsmouth we entered Cockhill wood plantation in an easterly direction, then moving south along Green's clough. Changing direction near Heald Top farm we headed south east to meet Flower Scar road where we had a short break for refreshments. Continuing our journey we passed a disused coal mine and headed onto the Todmorden Centenary way and back to our start point.

A total distance of 7km of which 2.7km was uphill with a 1.3km flat section. Highest elevation was 488m with a 259m ascent
