Today's walk from the library took us past Mephisto's grave and on to a position where we could contrast today's view of the park with the photo taken before the Cherry Trees were planted and the Board School was demolished.
We then passed the Californian Redwood tree and Wellington Lodge and moved on to Victoria street to view the evidence of sinking buildings around the junction with Hare Hill road.
During intermittent rain showers we also viewed some of the older buildings around the centre, including the Royal Oak, the Roundhouse/Wheatsheaf, the Falcon Cottages and Church street buildings.
Moving round to the back of the Falcon where markets were held in the past we saw the mural over the door to the Coach House before moving on to Townhouse road where we had to look hard to spot some old railings which once surrounded the old Board School.
