Our Tuesday 5th May started at 10am at RSPCA Hollingworth Lake and we walked along Rakewood road, passing what was the old Lodge inn, and towards the Littleborough Sports club where we turned into Deep lane and around the sports ground to find the unmarked footpath leading under the Rakewood viaduct.
it is then a long slow climb to meet a northerly footpath dropping down towards Longden end brook where we followed a hairpin turn to pass lower Booth Hollins and followed the track down back under Rakewood viaduct onto Rakewood road and back to our start point.
It was an easy going, circular walk following mainly established footpaths and tracks, about 4 miles taking almost exactly 2 hours.
