Starting from our usual meeting point we drove to the Long Causeway (Kebs Road) on the County Border and set off for the Trig point at Hoof Stones Height in a generally northern direction.
It was a long uphill drag over wet tussocky ground, with patches of muddy pond requiring negotiation, in a healthy breeze and full sun.
At the Trig point we headed East, parallel with the Heptonstall/Blackshaw border to the bridge at Noah Dale where we took our light refreshment before heading back to our start point along an almost identical route.
