Starting at the library we walked though Hare Hill Park towards the station and onto the Canal towpath, passing the new Hollingworth road development, where Armour Hess Chemical works, previously Cleggswood Oil and Grease works, and subsequently Akzo Chemie once traded.
Turning down the "ABC" steps we then passed through the site of an old corn/fulling mill alongside the river Roch, which subsequently became Hardy's Glue works.
We then returned to the library by Stubley Mill road, Stockton street and Springvale terrace.
